2020 – Super Valu Volunteer Group!

Our community volunteer group continue to provide assistance to Ryan’s SuperValu supermarket in Glanmire in offering a grocery delivery service to reduce the pressure on the supermarket’s own service which is experiencing unprecedent demand during the COVID19 pandemic. Specifically, our delivery slots are 17.00-19.00 on Wednesdays and 12.00-15.00 on Thursdays.

The target group are vulnerable members of the community who are unable to visit the supermarket to do their own shopping. Feedback from the group, thus far, has been 100% positive.

The staff at SuperValu have been extremely efficient and well organised as is to be expected while those receiving their groceries have been very appreciative. The club is very grateful to all our volunteers. They are doing the club proud at this time and word has it that they are building our supporter base; even in non-traditional areas so-to-speak!

A special word of thanks to Fiona Sneddon , who is doing tremendous work in co-ordinating the effort.

2020 – Pipelife Sponsorship!

Ahead of the hurling championship, we received a timely boost by getting a new set of jerseys very kindly sponsored by PipeLife. PipeLife produces pipes and fittings including the energy-efficient QualPex range for the heating and plumbing market.

Located in Templemichael, they (formerly Quality Plastics Ltd) have been a big employer in the area for decades with many current players, officers and selectors among their present or past employees.

This sponsorship deal is therefore a good fit and will hopefully benefit both parties. The new jerseys certainly bought us luck first time out anyway! A big thanks to Shane Cahill and Murt Kelleher from our side for their work here.
