The Under 11 footballers played Clyda Rovers in a challenge game on Saturday (29th March) last in White’s Cross. The conditions were quite greasy on the day.
We played two 7-a-side games. We had more players available than Clyda on the day and the constant rotation of players seemed to disjoint our performance a little. That said, both matches were competitive throughout with the Mourneabbey side slightly shading it on this occasion despite strong performances from man-of-the-match Daniel Cotter, Ryan McCarthy, Harry O’Donovan and Michael Looney.
This side is now gearing up for their first competitive game as they play Kildorrery in the Division 6 grading league (under 12) while they will also be busy playing Go-Games in the coming weeks. Ballinhassig are first up next Saturday.
