White’s Cross junior hurlers recorded an impressive victory over Blackrock in their third outing of the campaign, producing a powerful second-half display to run out 4-15 to 2-10 winners.
The game began at a lively pace, with Blackrock opening the scoring before Whites Cross responded through a free fromEddie Coughlan. Coughlan was central to the early exchanges, while points from John McElhinney and Cathal Quinlan kept the sides level. The key moment of the half came on 19 minutes when Dan Kelleher struck for a well-taken goal. Despite this, Blackrock stayed in touch, and the sides went in level at the break, 1-06 apiece.

The second half belonged to White’s Cross. Kelleher’s second goal shortly after the restart set the tone, and further majors from Coughlan and Kelleher completed his hat-trick. Coughlan was outstanding, contributing heavily from both play and placed balls, while Ruairí Quinlan and Brendan Quain added valuable scores.

Defensively, White’s Cross tightened up, limiting Blackrock to sporadic chances. With a dominant midfield and clinical finishing, White’s Cross pulled away in the closing stages to secure a deserved and confidence-boosting win.
