Our second under 12 hurling team made it two wins from two in their grading league with this five goal victory over a strong Blarney side in Carraig Na Bhfear on Thursday 10th of April. Both of these side had won their opening game, hence this tie was always going to be hard-fought affair. However, a good-start is half the battle as they say, and Colmcille’s, like they had against Kildorrery a week earlier, tore into their opponents and hit them for early goals. A stunned Blarney side trailed 5-01 to 1-01 at the break.
Though the second half was more even, the workrate of the Colmcille’s players again let them shade the issue. This was a very strong team performance again. RJ Whitely is proving to be real handful for all opponents and he again was the scorer-in-chief. Zach Forde, Noah Foley also chipped in with scores. At the other end, Ben Kennefick stood in goal for the absent Cillian Buckley and aquitted himself very well. It’s Watergrasshill up next for this group in a week’s time.
