Four first half goals from St. Colmcille’s put this game as a contest to bed, long before the final whistle. The opening period goals goals were by Alex Flynn, Billy Ryan, Dylan Bowen and Billy Cambridge and with some excellent points from Darragh Cashman, Billy Ryan and Alex Flynn, it put the game beyond Whitechurch by half time.
Elsewhere excellent defending in the full back line by Micheal Leahy and Jack Harte meant that chances were very limited for Whitechurch and it culminated in a convincing win for the team.
The victory in this opening game sets St. Colmcille’s up nicely for a good championship run in hurling.
