White’s Cross 7 – 16 Castlelyons 1 – 04

The under 14 footballers put on a completely dominant display to completely over power a battling Castleyons side in their league encounter. The first half display was almost flawless. The backs held their opponents scoreless while the forwards had their scoring boots on to amass a massive 6-08; a rare enough occurrence over an entire game. The second half became a little scrappy but the game was very much over as a contest by half time. The coaches used the opportunity to experiment with the line up a little bit. Ciarán Aitken, who normally operates as a forward, had a great first half at wing back. Robert Docherty moved to the full back line, with lowering his usual high standard, from his customary position in the middle of the field while Ruairí Quinlan, operating out of wing back, was effectively given the freedom of the field and was outstanding linking the play.
