White’s Cross had a nine point victory over local rivals Rathpeacon in this hurling league enocunter played in Kilcully. Eoin Murnane had a great game at centre forward and finished with a personal tally of 2-02 over the hour. It was his fine goal, the opening score of the game, which set White’s Cross on their way to victory. When he scored his second goal have way through the first half, Rathpeacon had only registered one point. The victors were in complete control at this stage and were always able to maintain a healthy advantage despite Rathpeacon battling to get back into the game and make it a contest. Anytime they did manage to chip in for a point, Conor Buckley, Seamus Quinlan or Donncha Murnane ably responded on the other side and kept Rathpeacon at arm’s length. When Edwin Buckley scored his side’s third goal it ensured there would be no nervous late moments for White’s Cross.
