White’s Cross 3 – 06 Whitechurch 5 – 10

Twenty-four hours after an under 14 football league semi-final loss to Dripsey, and a number of these lads were out again – this time in the under 13 hurling league final against Whitechurch, in a game played at Carraig na bhFear.

This proved an absolutely cracking game of hurling played before a large crowd, and whilst our lads went in as complete underdogs against a side that had won the county championship final a couple of weeks previous, they made our neighbours work hard for this title.

All over the field these lads worked tirelessly – Seamus Quinlan was very solid in goal, while outside him captain Johnny Noonan marshalled matters from the full back berth.  Ronan Quain and Daniel O Hara were immense in the half-back line, while up front, Cormac O Flynn, Corey Cambridge and Sean Kelly all work their socks off.

At the end of the sixty minutes all present, both the victors and defeated, warmly applauded both sides on the quality of hurling exhibited.
