In one of a number of Under 10 football challenge games played recently, this one was a close exciting encounter played in Delaneys. White’s Cross started the better of the two sides. Corey Cambridge in particular was causing havoc in the Delaneys backline and he ended up scoring a personal tally of 1-03 in the first half.
White’s Cross extended their lead at the start of the second half with some fine scores from Sean Heffernan , Denis Bradley and Colin McCarthy. Delaneys were in the game much more in the second half however and there was never more than just a kick of the ball between the two teams.
Indeed Delaneys had White’s Cross on the ropes at the end and only for strong defending from Ross Murphy and Padraig Cloran Delaneys would have sneaked it.
