After a very disappointing opening to their league campaign in 2008, our Junior B footballers recovered ground nicely in the past month. Heavy home defeats to both Douglas and Nemo Rangers had this side travelling with fear to Togher for their third game versus St. Finbarrs.
However, here the lads showed commendable spirit, a trait which had helped the side progress to the semi-finals of both league and championship in 2007, in beating an experienced Barrs side 2-09 to 1-06. William Casey and Michael Osborne were in fine form here.
Buoyed by this success the lads also defeated a Ballyphehane side, that had played in the higher division of the league twelve months previous, by 5:6 to 3:7. Colin Lawless, Breandán Murnane and Colm Keane were amongst the goal-scorers in this win.
