The following Sunday entailed a journey to a wind-swept Nemo grounds where our lads again defeated south-side opposition, by 0-7 to 0-3. In this low-scoring contest it was the defence, which was key, and the huge performances of Sean Gorman, Paul Finnegan and Paul O Donovan are well worth mention. Colm Sheahan scored three points, including one great effort from a side-line kick, while centre-forward Con Kelleher also made his mark on the score-board, as did Philip O Connell and Paul Morley. These lads tussle with more south-side opponents in their up-coming clashes as they play St. Finbarrs at White’s Cross before travelling to Ballinure.
