Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others” and “Dads and Lads” comes to Whites Cross GAA.
The philosophy of “Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others” and “Dads and Lads” is all about exercise, fun, participation and social connection that only team sports can offer.
The small sided adapted games allow for incidental contact only (to minimise any risk of injury) so skills are to the fore over physicality.
Both “Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others” and “Dads and Lads” are open to people of all ages and no previous experience of playing football is required.
For more details please see links below, contact Anthony (087 6991482) or come along and give it a try at our open evenings on Wednesday March 2nd at 8pm for “Dads and Lads” or Sunday March 6th at 8pm “Gaelic 4 Mother & Others” in Whites Cross GAA Astro.

First Training Session at the New Astro Turf Facility
The first training session has officially taken place on all-weather training facility. This took place on the 22nd the January. Twelve months prior the country was in strict lockdown with no meetings or work allowed. However, the committee dedicated to the construction and fundraising project, spearheaded by chairperson Mike O’Flynn, were diligently planning the various aspects of the project. Massive credit is due to all having put in a massive effort over 6 months. It’s great to see this dream become a reality
There were many highlights along the way from the ceremonial turning of the sod by the newly appointed Club President Con Delaney to the actual turning of the sod by the construction company in late September. Before the first training session, we had Club President Con Delaney back to inspect the finished surface and we are glad to report he gave it his seal of approval!
Also present on the day was Eoin Hourihan from our primary contractor Hourihan Sports and Civils and Brian Harte from the White’s Cross committee. Brian Harte has done Trojan work from conception through to completion on this project. He has spent countless hours working on behalf of the Club in bringing this job to fruition in his usual understated way. He built up a great working relationship with James and Eoin Hourihan and indeed Brian would be first to want it noted, that we in White’s Cross GAA have been delighted with our choice of contractor – their work has been first class and they have been a pleasure to work with.
