Douglas ended White’s Cross 3-in-a-row city championship quest on Sunday morning. With 2 minutes to go of normal time, the victory was looking likely as we led on a score line of 0-10-to 0-8. However a deflected shot deceived goalkeeper Ronan Aherne, who had been outstanding throughout, to swing the game in Douglas favour. Though we did level the game shortly after it was Douglas that pushed on to get the crucial scores. There was no shortage of effort on the part of White’s Cross players or management on the day. Everything was left on the pitch in pursuit of victory. It wasn’t to be our day, however, and we congratulate Douglas on their victory. We still have a Munster junior B hurling championship to look forward. The players will take a break and approach this competition with renewed vigour
