White’s Cross 5-13 St. Nicks 0-09

White’s Cross continued their impressive start to the Junior A Football League with a commanding victory over St. Nick’s on Saturday afternoon at the Glen Field, making it three wins from three and sending them top of the table.

Despite lining out without several regular starters, White’s Cross tore straight into the game from the outset. Conor Buckley opened the scoring inside the first minute before Brendan Quain struck for two well-taken first-half goals, putting the away side firmly in control. Further points from Buckley and Patrick Harrington, along with a composed penalty finish from Stephen Whooley, helped secure a dominant 3-06 to 0-04 lead at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with White’s Cross maintaining their intensity. John McElhinney and Killian Ryan added points, while Edwin Buckley contributed from placed balls, including a superb two-pointer. Brendan Quain completed his hat-trick of goals early in the half, and further majors from Dylan Burke ensured there was no way back for St. Nick’s.

With a final scoreline of 5-14 to 0-09, it was a comprehensive performance. While still early in the season, sitting top of the league is a very positive sign for this developing squad.
