St Colmcille’s made a great start to this game when they raced 1-03 to no score clear in this football championship tie played in Carraig Na Bhfear on Friday night last. Unfortunately, they were no able to build on the lead and the visitors started to make in-roads into the lead. They had some big strong players in the spine of their team that caused Colmcille’s significant problems. They scored two goals of their own in a dominant third quarter and it was they that lead on a 2-07 to 1-04 scoreline at the break.
Nick’s dominated the third quarter as well to their credit and extended out their lead which effectively won the game for them. The home side did finish the game strongly and got the last few scores of the game with some of the points going just over when goals were a possibility. They were a bit short though of reeling St. Nick’s back in who deservedly won the game.
