White’s Cross Club President John Drummy and Chairperson Seán Coughlan paid a visit to the Marymount University Hospice in Curraheen on Wednesday 19th of March to present a cheque for €1,415 to the organisation. This money was raised from our annual Puc Fada which takes place on St. Stephen’s day. Each year the proceeds raised from this event, in the spirt of the time of year, is given to a nominated cause or charity. In the past we have donated to the Jack O’Driscoll Fund (Mayfield) and the Teddy McCarthy Statue Fund.
This year a club member nominated Marymount University Hospice for their work in providing palliative care to those with life-limiting illness. It is certainly a worthy recipient and they were very grateful to White’s Cross GAA for the nomination this year. Thank you to all those that took part on the day for your contribution to this worthy cause.
