White’s Cross GAA recently handed over a cheque for 6,272 euro to the Aid Cancer Treatment (ACT) charity at the Cork University Hospital.
The money was raised through the fundraising efforts of forty-two members and friends of White’s Cross GAA who climbed Ireland’s tallest mountain Carrantuohill at the end of January.
Forty-odd members were expertly guided all the way to a cloudy peak by club member, John Meade and his assistants Tim Cronin and Brian Boland.
This money will be made available to Ward 2D at the hospital to continue the outstanding work this unit does on an on-going basis to maximise the comfort of its patients.
Well done and thanks to all our members and friends that took part in the climb but a big shout out too to all those of you in our locality who supported this particular fundraising venture.
