Defending champions Nemo Rangers retained the AOS Security Seandún Junior Football League 4 title when they defeated White’s Cross in the decider at Ballinlough.

This game was dictated by the wind as White’s Cross, who had the elements in their favour in the opening half, scored four unanswered points in the second quarter.

The tide turned in Nemo’s favour in the second half as they restricted White’s Cross to 1-1 after the break.Two points for Nemo in stoppage time were to prove decisive.

This left the half-time scoreline reading 0-7 to 0-5 in favour of White’s Cross.

Nemo had White’s Cross on the back foot from the resumption, but wayward shooting was proving costly.

In the 39th minute, White’s Cross opened up a five-point lead after Sean Delaney drilled home the game’s only goal from the corner of the Nemo square.

Nemo drew level with five unanswered points, before Edwin Buckley but White’s Cross back in the driving seat with a pointed free.

With extra-time looming, the Trabeg side had White’s Cross on the defensive.

Wayward kick-outs were costly as Colm Kerins levelled matters with a point from play and this was followed by Neil O’Sullivan’s last g asp winner.
