This opening match of 2023, was a challenge game played at the Buck Leary’s Cross venue. It was the first day-out for the new management team of Michael Prout and Murt Kelleher.
There was not a whole lot to be read into the game or the result itself. It was a typical challenge game. that was played in a three 20-minute segment format. There were multiple changes throughout the game implying it was quite disjointed. Nonetheless, it was a useful run-out and all players in attendance played at least half the game.
There was only one point between the sides after 40 minutes. Glanmire, aided with the stiff breeze, added 9 points in succession thereafter before Donncha Murnane scored the final point of the game with the last kick.
