In recognition of being the first captain in the forty-nine year of history of the White’s Cross club to lift a Junior A Championship Cup, Murt Kelleher was recently awarded the Glanmire and District Monthly Sports Award. A Waterford Crystal trophy was presented to Murt by Mary Fitzgerald, proprietor of the Fitgerald’s Vienna Woods Hotel at a lunch function attended by over 30 guests at the hotel.
Amongst those in attendance were Lord Mayor Cllr. Michael Ahern and Lady Mayoress Eileen Ahern, Garda Sergeant Bill Daly; the judging panels members Teddy McCarthy, Pat MacAuliffe and Lillian Zinkant; as well as members of the White’s Cross Club.
