White’s Cross 1 – 08 Crosshaven 3 – 05

White’s Cross had a Jekyll and Hyde performance against Crosshaven in poor blustery conditions in .An early Donnacha Fitzgerald goal put the Cross on front foot, bravely challenging the goalkeeper and getting his just reward. The backs were completely on top for the first half.

Tony O’ Keefe and Robert McEllhinney were defending strongly in the full back line. The team produced an excellent display of free flowing attacking football with half back axis of Feargheal Reid, Seán Twomey and Adam Bransfield the architect of many of these attacks. White’s Cross led 1-05 to 0-00 at half time.

The second half was completely different story as Crosshaven got strangle hold on possession. They began to dominate kickouts and exerted massive pressure aided by a strong wind.Missing Captain Killian Ryan fielding skills were greatly missed against a very physical opposition. Paul Hayes worked himself to stand still. Young Jack Kiely performed admirably in goal. T

wo late goals sealed an unjust win for Crosshaven. White’s Cross team will feel they left this game behind.
