St Colmcille’s advanced to the semifinals of the minor hurling championship tonight with a good win away to Castlelyons. A very strong start saw us build up a strong lead after Sean O’Donoghue struck a fine goal.
However the intensity dropped and by early in the second half it was a level match. That’s when the team showed great character to push ahead again, Aaron Ryan and Ruairi Quinlan leading from the back.
Goals from Billy Connolly and Eddie Coughlan put daylight between the teams again and we ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-20 to 1-16.
