White’s Cross 5 – 01 Dripsey 0 – 09

White’s Cross made a slow start to their U13 league campaign and soon found themselves trailing a dogged Dripsey Team by 6 points to no score at half time.  The scoreline was harsh on the Cross as players like Colin McCarthy and Seamus Quinlan were having fine games for the boys in green.  Dripsey extended their score to 0-7 in the second half but White’s Cross came roaring back.

Substitute Sean Kelly was the game changer as he caused the Dripsey defence all sorts of bother bagging two goals to put White’s Cross back in the hunt. The men in green swarmed all over the opposition and continued their deadly form in front of goal with the excellent Colin McCarthy and little assassin Adam Kent also netting vital goals.
Dripsey could only respond with two points and at the final whistle White’s Cross were to edge the game 5-1 to 0-9.

Defence was the key to victory with Ronan Quain and Cian O Connell holding firm in the full back line and the likes of Cillian Hall and goalkeeper Jack Kiely, put in strong showings.
