In the second game of the season the standard of football improved remarkably from the previous encounter versus Rathpeacon as we saw off Bishopstown on a 2:13 to 3:5 score-line.
Leading by 5 points to 3 at the short whistle, we were given a real cushion at the start of the second period, when Kevin Buckley and Conor Kelleher scored goals. When these were complemented by points courtesy of Conor Buckely and Stuart Kiely it looked as though a rout could be on!
However Bishopstown fought back courageously and stung Billy Sheahan’s defence for three of their own goals to bring it back to three. With all the momentum now with the Town side, wing-forward Brian Murphy steadied things nicely once more with a sweetly struck score putting two scores between the sides again.
