White’s Cross 3 – 15 Rathpeacon 1 – 11

The junior B hurling team were in action for the second time in a week against Rathpeacon in a home game. The visitors started the better. Jonathan Horgan (brother of Cork and Glen Rovers star Patrick) was unerring from frees. One of these frees actually ended up in the net to give his side a 1-04 to 0-01 lead. White’s Cross settled though when Harry Coughlan buried his first goal. A mistake by the goalkeeper allowed White’s Cross to score another major just before the interval. The early jitters had been put to bed as the side now dominated the proceedings. The second half was more comfortable. Harry Coughlan and Seamus Reid again dominated the scoring.  At the other end, Conor Kelleher had a very good game at centre back as did the O’Flynn brothers – Cathal and Cormac in the corners.
