The club held its White’s Cross GAA 60th Anniversary Celebration Dinner on the 3rd of February 2017 in the Vienna Woods Hotel. It was a night full of memories, ceol agus craic, fun and banter. It was great to have such a large crowd join in our celebration.
Several medals were presented to our current adult teams on the evening. The junior A football team won their Seandun Junior A football league in late 2015 while our Junior B hurling team won the Craobh Rua Cup and City Division championship in 2016.
We were also delighted to be able to present special awards to winning sides from previous decades. Several members of our 1991 Junior hurling and football championship winning sides were present. Going further back, we were also honoured to have members of the 1977 winning East Cork under 21 football championship winning side.
Finbarr Kiely, a coach who has been with the White’s Cross club at different times or nearly 30 years and a person that has coached our club to our most memorable successes was also given a special award for his service to the club.
