It has been hurling action that has dominated proceedings in the Seandún barony for the last 10 weeks. Our Junior A hurlers, had to avail of the back-door route having lost to Brian Dillons in their opening championship encounter, to re-enter championship 2008. This they did with a convincing victory over St. Finbarrs, although the concession of two late goals, took some gloss off the 1-20 to 2-10 victory. They now face Blackrock in a third round clash.
Meantime the second hurling side have also progressed through the Junior B championship. Unlike the A championship, the B championship does not allow the luxuries of back-doors, as it is run on a straight knock-out basis. This team, captained by Dave Buckley, have qualified for a semi-final clash with Mayfield, with victories over Ballinure and Brian Dillons.
