When White’s Cross GAA finally got their hands on the coveted Junior A Football Championship Cup for the first time in 2006, it was evident that the cup itself was well-travelled! The years and the many nights of celebration it provided to various Clubs throughout the division had taken their toll! This gave the committee at White’s Cross GAA an opportunity they had been seeking for some time. Ever since the passing of former club president Joe O Callaghan (R.I.P.) in 2002 the Club had been looking for an appropriate way of marking his huge contribution to White’s Cross. Joe had given over forty years of sterling service to the Club, and was involved in every capacity; varying from treasurer to grounds-person, from chief fund-raiser to selector. Thus on this year’s final of the primary football competition in the Seandún Division, Pat O’ Callaghan, son of Joe, presented the Joe O’ Callaghan Perpetual Cup to the winning captain. For the record Nemo Rangers defeated St. Vincent’s in the decider
