White’s Cross 1 – 08 Douglas 0 – 08

In their Round One Game our second string beat Douglas by 1-8 to 0-8, in a thrilling game at White’s Cross.  Here a Michael Meade goal coming up to half-time ensured our lads were always to the front.  In the second-half, Anthony Kelleher, home from the UK for the weekend, chipped in with three points, having taken over the full-forward berth at the short whistle.

Colin Lawless also made a welcome return to competitive action in this tie, having been side-lined all of last season with a groin injury, and he chipped in with a point also.  Indeed White’s Cross GAA wishes Colin the best of luck as he gets married later this month.  William Casey at wing-back put in a man-of-the-match performance in this win.
